Safety Coordinator – Commercial Electrical Construction

Job Type: Full-Time
Work Location: On-site / In Person

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and field-oriented Safety Coordinator to support commercial electrical construction projects. The Safety Coordinator will work closely with project teams to promote safe work practices, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and foster a positive safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and audits.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety policies.
• Facilitate new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and safety training.
• Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and pre-task planning activities.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries and track corrective actions.
• Verify proper use of PPE and adherence to safe work practices.
• Maintain safety records, training documentation, and inspection reports.
• Partner with project managers, superintendents, and foremen to address safety concerns.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of construction safety experience; electrical construction experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Experience working outdoors and on active construction sites.
• Safety management experience within the construction industry.

Required Certifications

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Commercial or industrial electrical construction experience.
• CHST, ASP, CSP, OSHA 500, or similar safety certifications.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E.
• Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Knowledge of fall protection.
• Knowledge of energized electrical work practices.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk active construction sites for extended periods.
• Ability to climb ladders and navigate uneven terrain.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work in varying weather and jobsite conditions.
